happy birthday to who-we-are-in-RL!

gosh.

you’ll never guess who just became “une femme d’un certain age”..

*winkstocamera3*

well.

*thinks*

maybe you would because, well, you’re Here.

45FORTY-FIVE?!

wowzer.

how did That happen?

*giggles*

thank goodness for Ponds Cold Cream and that nice soft pink tin of moisture morning cream from Boots The Chemist.

and a delicious wicked card from Mr. William Godwin featuring the cast of The Good Life from the BBC 1970s-era programme.

williambirthdaycardand some gorgeous blooms that we met yesterday while driving around in an urban farm flower grower’s van talking about Eastbourne (true story – we both went to school in the same town in England and here we are – the grower and who-we-are-in-RL – both in Los Angeles – isn’t the world completely magical?)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAnow there are many Deeply interesting people born on March 9th.

we wrote about some of them Last Year

while in 2012 who-we-are-in-RL was in PARIS, on very important Business.

what about March 2011?

you know we’re not Entirely sure what we were doing then.

it was (just) before we started to write here, as teamgloria.

which is when it all began…….

to be correct, for who-we-are-in-RL, it all began in 1969.

and That was a fine year for many others who also now live here (very near) to the Hollywood Studios to pack their celestial accoutrements, chose a set of parents (or more than one set, that happens too), a place to Start (and not, for us, to stay), and set out on the journey to becoming who-They-are this time around (doesn’t everyone think like this? it’s Delicious).

glorious.

we’ll say it again: GLORIAous.

so she’s getting ready as we’re taking her for Brunch and then there’ll be a small supper with friends later and perhaps a walk and generally a lot of lying around feeling glorious and Of A Certain Age.

because tomorrow in our role as a Foreign Correspondent we shall be Reporting at the Los Angeles Fashion Week so who-we-are-in-RL needs her beauty sleep for that.

and the dark glasses and probably the pearls too.

*chuckling*

postcards from the past, from Paris.

darlings

as you may recall – we adore Post.

sending it, receiving it, admiring it, writing it.

generally very Into Post.

for example – last night, as we walked home from the grocery store after spending the evening with friends, we popped into the smallish cubby hole (yes, the one by the Laundry Room by the mid-70s mirrored glass lobby which is not that photogenic or we Would have shared it already) and Picked up the Post.

what did we find?

oh!

Post from ENGLAND!

5d44456a8f3f11e3adf0123b25f3136a_8Mr. William Godwin is a most special Friend.

*wipesawaytear*

and we are Very grateful.

what’s that?

ah yes.

perhaps a cross-cultural confusion has arisen.

on the left – Mr. Ronnie Corbett from a comedy duo called The Two Ronnies (yes, there was a second Ronnie, a much taller one – for comedic effect), a stalwart of innuendo-chortle-inducing saturday night “Telly” (as the Brits call it) while the Nation sat agog from the many brown-ish shades of sofas popular that decade (often with a fringe for the more middle-class aspirationals).

ah.

but on the Right.

That would be Danny La Rue.

*pause_for_respect*

a stunning entertainer and all round genius.

Next time you see William, he can tell you the story of how he MET the great one. It’s a good tale and no mistake. Plenty of sequins (not on William, he does a nice dark suit, slim-cut, polished shoes).

back to the Post (about) Post.

so we got a postcard from Paris – from the Past – this week.

read on….

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

you see, we Adore a Carte Postale. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

particularly one from PARIS. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

and most especially when there’s still the message, quite discernible, on the back.

because when we see a Postcard in an antiques store (the one very near the Mission at San Juan Capistrano that we visited on Friday) and it sort of “speaks to us” (not Literally we hasten to add – more of a delicate yet very clear Vibration – bear with us, this IS california, love, we say stuff like that here and it’s Ever so much fun.)

we pick it up and start to read, with a great deal of Wonder.

Dear Parents, It was a great relief, this a.m, to have Dede’s letter saying you’d received my cable. Those addresses and dates in the cable are the same as I gave you before leaving Nutley. When you receive this I’ll be set to depart for the Grosvenor House Hotel. My reservation on Pan Am is Flight 101 to n.y on aug 16th. LOVE HD
WONDERFUL TIME –

*shivers*

isn’t that delicious?

she – for it was indeed a she – was in PARIS at Le Claridge (or just stopped in to buy this postcard, perhaps she was staying with bohemian 1920s (?) friends in the Quartier Latin) and heading to the Grosvenor House Hotel in London before making her way back to the United States on Pan Am Flight 101 (which just happened to be the flight that the Beatles took in 1964 on their 1st trip to the USA for the so-called “Beatles Invasion” although we do Not believe that was their intention, they just came to play some music and very nice music it is too).

2-bac-beatles-arriving-america

back to our friend HD, still suspended in the early 20th Century (when exactly do you think? post College Trip?) – we became Fascinated at this young American woman, flying on Pan Am, sending Cables (don’t you wish we still could?) and her European sojourn in such fine places.

(plus anyone who writes to their parents and calls them Dear Parents makes us chuckle)

so we did some sleuthing (because that’s what we do).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAand here’s what we found!

HD is Harriet Hudson.

Dr. Harriet Hudson.

who became the Dean of Randolph Macon Women’s College in Virginia and was obviously so Respected and beloved that there’s a Scholarship Fund in her hono(u)r to this day.

Screen Shot 2014-02-06 at 7.38.13 AMIn 1965, The Pittsburgh Press, gave notice that Dr. Harriet Hudson would be celebrated at a tea for her great Achievements in Academic Life.

so – working backwards – someone would reach such a venerable age to be so Feted at Retirement age or thereafter – so let’s say that our (for we feel she is now part of teamgloria) Dr. Harriet Hudson was circa 65 in 1965.

thus born at the beginning of the 20th century.

if the Postcard from PARIS was sent post College on a last hurrah before settling into her Career (for we find no record of marriage so we assume she was a Career Lady – like us – which is delicious and probably had a wardrobe of sensible tweed skirts and a Good pearl necklace and interesting hats for sundays) then on Friday, in San Juan Capistrano, we held a Postcard from PARIS 1920s.

the m y s t e r y we will never solve is how Harriet’s postcard from the 1920s got from her parent’s house in the City of Carlinville (where her father was the head of the College there) all the way to california Ninety Years Later.

but we *think* (always a dangerous activity yet such fun) we have solved it.

Dr. Harriet Hudson wanted to send teamgloria a postcard from the past from Paris.

and we’re Thrilled she did.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAlet’s face it, if you’re going to send anyone a postcard from the past from paris – at least you know WE are going to get it and treasure it (in moleskine #161 if you’re reading this in the Future and looking through our Archives in the Library).

in other news – here are the other treasures we found on our Road Trip back last week:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAsome lovely Maxfield Parrish cards.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

due to some Further sleuthing we found that our clipping from Architectural Digest August 1985, contained the apartment of Tommy Tune which was once the dwelling of a certain Mr. Tennessee Williams (145 W.55th Street from 1965 – 1966) OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAand Mulligans is still here (although the Mulligans themselves have long retired – we did call and ask if we could visit) – where the lovely bear-like Mr. Rob Reiner used to go to stay sane in a crazy world.

actually….

*lookstocamera*

we Are going to visit Mulligans (the shop, not the people) today.

so we’ll post pictures later. (and much later there will Also be an Article)

AFTER we drive to the virtual bungalow on the Studio Lot of Miss. Vickie Lester to be helpful around some digital matters (well, we’ll be sitting on the chaise by the window admiring her plantings – who-we-are-in-RL is doing the helpful/digital bit).

isn’t life delicious?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAit’s very sunny over here so the blinds are drawn.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAand light beams play on the creamy walls.

or is that Dr. Harriet Hudson smiling because we got her Postcard from the Past in Paris?

it could be.

you n e v e r know.

*shivers*

because the bit that Really made us *gasps* was not (just) Paris or its probably vintage but the fact that our new friend Harriet was flying from London to NYC on August 16th*.

which is the exact date teamgloria flew from London to NYC in 2001 to start our new life in the United States – here’s where we celebrated a Decade in this lovely Land (2001)

*and is also, of course you know this already, Ms. Madonna Louise Ciccone’s birthday.

a tiny moment of parisian heaven in studio city.

darlings

we were in Studio City at teatime, interviewing a very glamorous person for an upcoming column (you may have guessed, yes, we’re stockpiling articles because we’re about to start on a New Project as who-we-are-in-RL and get Terribly Busy) and There it was – – – –

– beauteousness

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

and about five chandeliers.

in a shop called “swag”.

we stopped dead in our tracks and slipped inside and in a reverie sought out the owner (a certain Diane Peiffer, interiors expert/designer/collector/genius for the last thirty years in this Tinseltown) and said (in a hushed whisper so we didn’t disturb the chandeliers)

may we take pictures?

and she said yes.

so here they are – isn’t it a GORGEOUS place?!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAwhite and creme floaty fabric roses for a Décolletage on a sumptuous ballgown.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAsoft linen wraps and bijou-bijoux.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAah, notes for a billet-doux.

so – we asked Diane – as we floated around the shop taking photographs –

how often do you go to Paris on purchasing trips?

there was a pause.

Diane smiled.

I’ve never actually been to Paris.

*gosh*

but everything in here is so-very-Parisian!

we said, with delicate confusion, and surprise – the entire shop was a tiny corner of Parisian late 18th century boudoir-gloriousness.

my grandmother was French……..

said Diane.

clearly it’s in your blood

we smiled.

and it Is.

there’s no way someone without French blood could put together that particular combination of glittering lustre, gilt mirrors, cherubs, crosses-be-jewel(l)ed and a low glow as if from candlelight behind a Chinoiserie screen a la Madame Chanel.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

there was even this adorable glimpse into 1930s english “gels”. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

now this made us *shiver*

do you know why?

it’s a shop in the very town where We Are From in RL..

*gasp*

which is (according to mr. google) 5437 miles (or 8750.35 kilometres if you’re european) away.

how did it get HERE?

and it is over one hundred years old (all the prints are at witch ball print shop)

so there must be a story.

or at least a story.

for some reason we didn’t buy the print.

not sure why.

perhaps because we knew someone will be in soon and it’s theirs to buy (yes, we think like That).

movingswiftlyon

now you can’t go On the interweb and look at swag because, well, there’s not an interweb site per se (as yet) but Diane has some Pinteresting Items for swag Here.

and if you want to visit swag in RL – here’s the address and a helpful map.

4332 Tujunga Ave, Studio City, CA 91604

Screen Shot 2013-06-18 at 6.44.02 PM

and if you Do visit – let us know and we’ll drive over the hill and meet you and we’ll have a cafe creme here – it’s just down the road from swag.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

not the only spot of parisian paradise in studio city as you can see – the whole street is full of frivolous delicious beauty and the aroma of chicory-laden sweet embrace of caffeine.

who knew?

well.

the glamorous person we were interviewing today for an upcoming column, that’s who.

it help to know people who know where the chandeliers are kept in this town.

just saying.

*lookstocamera*

and now if you’ll excuse us, we must retire with a suitably naughty companion to tell us scurrilous tales of the louche life (and, coincidentally, we’ve just got to the chapter on Paris……)

caa14a60d82211e2a2f022000a9e0b54_7

we shall return tomorrow with an Extract.

either from Rupert’s book – or from one of our (forthcoming) tales.

goodnight, darlings

let’s all dream about Paris tonight.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAhere’s a little night music to soothe you into the slumbering hours……..

[just in case Your Country doesn’t allow you to see this clip – it’s the glorious Cecilia Bartoli singing “Ombra mai fu” is the opening aria from the 1738 opera Serse by Maestro Handel.]

hanging the exhibition at #snice #soho

darlings

tis strange and surreal to be back Here (where we lived for 7 years if you’ve just joined us – and Welcome if you have *winninglooktocamera*)

and rather Glorious, of course.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

we had a coffee and a bagel at the counter of a 1929 coffee shop on Fifth and it all felt very teamgloria if you know what we mean – OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

and then we met up with the lovely Jonathan (yes, from one stop nyc) who helped us Hang The Exhibition!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

the landscapes (from L – R = Paris, Manhattan, Hong Kong, Taiwan) are on the large wall on the right as you walk into ‘sNice on Sullivan Street (in, SoHo, we are Enormously Grateful that we got to have a Show in SoHo, darlings)OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

greg and jim are on the inside right of the front (french) doors. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

brooklyn is above the water cooler.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

nick is centre (drew is to the left but someone was standing there and we couldn’t quite ask them to move as they were Admiring the photograph) and Stacy & Zack are to the Right on the Left wall (if that’s not Too Confusing). OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Jorden is above the sweetners. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAand Portugal is to the right of Taiwan (not in RL, just in our show – the Taiwan image has a lot of orange in it so we were trying to blend the colo(u)rs/shades/hues in some sort of Artistic Way).

and then we had Lunch with our Literary Agent at a very chic eatery and felt Quite Overwhelmed – by jet lag, by the exhibition opportunity, by being Back Here, staying with lovely friends and generally Life.

in a very good way, of course.

a tale of two authors, both alike in anonymity, in fair manhattan, where we lay our scene

darlings

– a tale of two authors – both alike in anonymity – in fair manhattan, where we lay our scene

do you remember ages ago (more accurately Jan 25th, 2012) we were in manhattan (so the scene in your head needs to reflect January – and NYC – yes, Large Coats and hats and gloves – very good) and happened to stroll by the delicious bookshop mcnally jackson where picked up a copy (by the grand self-publishing machine) of a tiny-gorgeous-tome that said “The Paris of Fashion Insiders”

– voila!

20120124-214235of course we Swooped on it and bought it instantly (mainly because we were About to go to Paris for the Day Job) and read it cover-to-exquisite-cover.

as you know – we adore writing to authors and yet looked in Vain for a name or a website or a blog or a small shelf denoted at a chic boutique in Paris – but there was just an (aol) email address #quellevintage

so we wrote.

and waited for the secret author to respond.

they did – but stayed silent as to their identity – as did We (at that point, being all anonyme avec le silence due to you-know-what) but even under the Cloak of Disguise we bonded and shared a (tinkling) laugh and eventually Agreed to Meet.

but first, we said, we must say who we both are!

(pause)

*looktocamera*

gosh.

it appeared that if we had been in a Shakespearean play we would have been in quite different noble families.

for we worked at One Major International Publishing House with (then) digital responsibility for the Vision behind the 31 Harper’s BAZAAR titles around the globe and (ahem) Carole Sabas is the New York Correspondent for Paris Vogue (gasp!).

just too, too, too delicious.

so we had tea (we ate, she didn’t – she’s a Parisian) at a glorious Manhattan hotel and Talked and Talked about her delicious books (by this time she had also published the guide to Manhattan too).

20120211-161210of course being all Smart and Chic and anonymous had attracted the attention of deeply interested book publishers who wanted to make her books into new editions on Their List.

who is your agent?

we said (because people say things like that in Manhattan all the time).

(shrug)

because that’s what Parisians do in response to things they don’t have an answer to, which is Charmante.

you must meet ours!

we said, because we are Bossy and care-about-writers.

so – to cut a long story (well, probably not that long) – Carole met Our Agent and they Signed and Lisa (our agent) Made a Deal (just like she did for our book).

Carole’s books are now available for pre-order via the interweb in tres elegante editions!

61mik8mdK7L 71ZuS+oOAIL._SL1035_

and the Venerable fashion correspondent Cathy Horyn just gave both books, and Carole, a lovely send-off in The New York Times – glorious stuff.

Screen shot 2013-03-28 at 8.20.47 AM

so there you go

– a tale of two authors – both alike in anonymity – in fair manhattan, where we lay our scene

(yes, yes, we Know that sounds familiar ;-)

well, Bonne Anniversaire, to who we are In Real Life.

gosh.

is it that time of Year already?

March 9th (we won’t make her blush by saying the year) is the day that who-we-are-in-real-life celebrates her you know – Birthday.

of course it’s not Our Birthday (because we celebrate April 9th which is when we were allowed to start writing, publicly, here, on teamgloria.com) but we Do Indulge her because she gets Rather Excited about today on account of increasing years to become what’s she’s always wanted to be since the age of 9:

“femme d’un certain age”

she’s not There quite yet (mainly because Catherine Deneuve is the gold standard in this respect and she keeps increasing the upper limit, refusing Point Blank, to be anything Other than Still Glamorous and feisty and eyebrow-raising-irony French).

while she got all excited and sipped coffee and responded to lovely (how modern) text messages next door, we did Some Research.

it appears that there are Other people born on March 9th too!

and they all have something of a deeply creative and big eyed fringed with dark lashes (mascara or not in the case of John Cale) Appeal, it seems.

url-1

Kim Tae-yeon from Korea #weadorethewondergirls – watch this!
url-2

and then from La belle France – Juliette Binoche – and there are many beautiful heart-rending movies made by La Binoche but we love Jet Lag (Décalage horaire) most of all. url-3

John Cale was also born today (in a Welsh mining town – such a long way from there to Here.)

url

and then, of course, of course, there’s VITA.

so there you go.

a Deeply Creative Bunch born today.  viewer-1

William sent a Marvel(l)ous Card. viewerwe’re going to lounge here just for a while – it’s only 0746AM in Los Angeles, darlings – we shall amuse ourselves with the Letters of Truman Capote, slip into the dark embrace of caffeine and perhaps nibble on (just) half a grapefruit.

there are plans ahead for the day – we’ll tag along and take photographs just to keep her amused and indulged.

although we’d Like to Point Out that Last Year we were in PARIS.

*sighs*

as we recall – we ordered Room Service (yes, we were at Le Bristol – with the Day Job and being all secretive and Still Anonymous) and just “happened” to confess it was our “anniversaire”……..the door was discretely tapped on again a few moments later and VOILA! Un Gateau!

20120309-034311

but naturally we’re Tickled Pink that we’re in Tinseltown.

plus half a grapefruit for breakfast rather than Un Gateau is probably more suitable for (almost) un femme d’un certain age.

but there will be Milkshakes later.

we’ve been Promised.

*smiling*

as who we are in RL is Increasing in age, as teamgloria, n’est ce pas, we’re Perpetually 28, naturellement, so we can afford to be Gracious ;-)

a rainy day post about people and paris @Shakespeare_Co

darlings

quelle shock.

it’s RAINING in los angeles today

and whenever we see (soft, misty, hair-curls-creating) rain (as opposed to torrential thunderstorms from east coast or perpetual dampness as per london) we think of PARIS (doesn’t everyone?)

we have a theory.

no.

wait.

it’s a good one.

everyone that we’ve truly (in a mostly virtual and delicious way) connected with via the interweb is the Sort of person that one might have met at Shakespeare & Co, wandering-through Paris and thinking (deeply) About Their Future.

Julie and Julia-shakespeare

yes.

clever you.

that Is indeed Meryl.

this theory has proved true more than Once.

we get to know someone (via their blog or Instagram or some such IP-enabled-fangled-Tech) and somehow or another the Subject of Paris comes up (doesn’t it always? – eventually – and especially with people who love books and chandeliers and it would be hard to be Friends in whatever with us without an Obsession or deep love of both) and then we find out YES! they also ran away to Paris at some point and stopped in at Shakespeare & Co.

In fact, we are convinced that everyone we love to talk* to via the magical interweb is the Sort of Person who would have passed through paris (and thus would have, at some point, been in need of a new Book and therefore gone to Shakespeare & Co) one (probably light, misty, rainy) day.

these are some of the delicious people that we follow-and-who-follow-us on Instagram (from Korea, England, Hong Kong, Wales, France, USA, Turkey, Germany, Italia, Japan, Australia, Sweden and other places that we haven’t quite grasped they might come from because they appear to travel a lot).

now take a good long look –

yes.

exactly.

They are precisely the sort of people one would expect to meet at Shakespeare and Company.

Screen shot 2013-02-19 at 7.58.48 PM

*sometimes we talk on the princess phone or online (in a typing-in-a-comment-box sort of a way) or – you know – when we know them better, in email or IM – OR sometimes we have tea with them when they come from Berlin or we find a taco stand in east LA and admire their Art and there are some people with whom our relationship has deepened over time from when we were anonymous (and going through you-know-what and they were Very Kind or those we know in RL but truly felt heard and seen by talking and going to Cornwall for a summer hols or by sharing online and the Many International connections which are all somehow intertwined from Australia to NYC to not-far-from-Cardiff to Istanbul and the Emerald Isle to Los Angeles and Back and beyond.

in fact, Some people we talk to have probably not just been to Shakespeare & Co but hosted or been hosted at a Deeply glamorous and Literary Event there…..

Screen shot 2013-02-19 at 8.10.52 PM

there you go.

the theory for a rainy day in L.A………the corners of the interweb where we find each other = a massive shakespeare and co, Paris.

non?

viewerwe couldn’t resist ending this post with not-quite-a-chandelier but Rather Parisian all the same.

actually – no – don’t go away – let’s have some Actual pictures FROM our prior trips to Paris, pourquoi pas?

20120306-100433 20120306-100457 20120311-095949 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA p10100231even on a rainy day we’ll always have Paris.

and we’ll always have you – the Sort of people who would, at one point in their lives, have passed through Shakespeare & Company – and maybe we would have seen you, by the Simone de Beauvoir collection, frowning (prettily) over a commentary of some gloriously difficult yet helpful feminist text or, more likely, giggling over Asterix.

a parisian cafe morning in manhattan #balthazar with @jennafain

quelle chic of a matin, darlings

as M. Sartre once wrote:

it is certain that the cafe by itself with its patrons, its tables, its booths, its mirrors, its light, its smoky atmosphere, and the sounds of voices, rattling saucers, and footsteps which fill it – the cafe is a fullness of being.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

and so it was at Balthazar this morning. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

and our breakfast companion was the glorious Jenna Fain who was Very Kind and agreed to join in with the anonymous/writer/parisian theme that we decided to embrace today.

what did we eat?

of course we’ll tell you – tartine, beurre and a Rather English pot of tea – oh, and marmalade, for us – a small pain au chocolat for her.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Jenna is one to watch – most definitely – so much material – so many ideas – and a Very engaging Voice (of a generation) – we feel great things are Ahead. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

the cafe was suitably warm and yet Parisian in manner and dress and delightful frostiness of cheekbone and slim white linen apron and a glare at an unsuitable customer – we felt Most at Home. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

can’t you just picture the scene?OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

delightful.

and it’s only 10AM.

we spent time with a future voice of a generation – air-kissed with a former Hollywood Executive (who: cue to camera – came up to say hello to Us – ahem – shy yet engaging smile) and a Movie Star was in the corner, with friends.

delightful.

what did You want to become, darlings?

when you were small (playground size and we don’t mean those dodgy clubs south of the river where the cabs don’t go)……what did you want to be?

viewer-4

we used to pour over Magazines (we still do) and dream of becoming Noel Coward and (note Not Or but And) Cecil Beaton and Nancy Mitford.

plus ca change then darlings….

but You?

what/who/inWhatForm did you want to become as a “grown-up”?
viewer-1

we never really became disillusioned with our dreams because we sort of don’t listen to dull people (Noel, Cecil and Nancy taught us well). viewer-2 viewer-3 Yes, there are moments when we think: “oh dear god(s), how are we going to make a living Next?!”

but then we remember we’ve done this So many times and had So many Adventures – real ones – in Foreign far-off Lands or just dreamed of in the back of a pub in Camden Town or while a teenager and walking despairingly across the cliffs of southern england with nothing in our pockets but a crumpled pound note (pre coins, love) and then suddenly (or, you know, a decade later) there we are – in Milan – about to get up on stage to talk in front of a room of GORGEOUS people after a famous fashion designer (ok, Donatella, there, we Said it) and thought, “Yes! this is Exactly how we imagined it”.
viewer

plus who could get worried about the Future when there are twinkle lights and a portrait of Jean done by Bailey to enjoy chez teamgloria.

as we said to a good friend the other day – the point is to Dream.

and then we made them smile, slowly, when we said:

we never wanted to be Moneypenny
we wanted to be James.
and now we’re heading towards being M (Judi, not the new chap – oops – did we just ruin Skyfall for you?)

so, darlings.

what did you want to become when you grew up?

and are you there yet?

it’s good isn’t it?

Life.

and all that jazz.

(we saw you at the back on the Other coast with that hand action – very good – actually remarkably sprightly if we do say so – Bob – can we call him Bob? he would have loved that move. well, Bob invented that move. right?)

viewer

picture albums and reveries

darlings

so we’ve been looking through the collection of Photographs from our travels (because we needed to put together something of a slideshow for someone in our RL-existence) and here it is – on a special page called (rather helpfully, we thought): Photos. (or you can click on the picture and it will take you there (the miracles of The Hyperlink – we still remember the first day we learned how to make an “a” tag, ah heady days.)

so many places.

so many memories.

actually, if you’re curious about how we got into digital (and learned about the a “tag”) the story of our digital beginnings is here (but remember it’s about who we are in RL, not our teamglorianess so it’s all “I” and a bit British-in-tone not wonderfully-We as we are here ;-)
