beatles covers, mozart mash-ups and photographing scrapbooks.

darlings

we *Are* enjoying 2014 already especially now everyone seems to be “Back At School” (for some reason we felt like the smart orphan who had to board during the hols because her rich relatives were in zurich sorting out the family misfortunes and so spent one’s time with the janitor learning how to play poker by the boiler and improving one’s Beethoven in the deserted Music School).

perhaps this would have been our playlist of the last quiet evening before the Trunks thumped into the lobby and the sound of several hundred lace-up Clarks shoes thundered up the main staircase:

and we’re sure we would have spent a most profitable evening Photographing old scrapbooks to look Back (in a good way) and see how Far We Have Come.

a sunday morning in los angeles

darlings

this is a deeply *strange* time of year.

everyone is waiting breathlessly for the end of 2013.

winding down.

finishing up work. getting ready-to-fly (if that’s what they need to do).

no one is sure whether it’s still Polite to email about work issues or whether we’d be interrupting.

so we don’t.

we finish what’s on the schedule.

and then – *looksaround* – wait for 2014.

but it’s still *counts* quite a few days away……

so – we’ll take Pictures and listen to Music and Watch foreign Films and Read and take long walks and drives and enjoy it.

gosh.

how about you?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

a trip east to highland park – with sounds by the fab four

darlings

we visited the 60s today.

it wasn’t *really* the Sixties.

but it sure felt like it.

there’s a stretch of York Avenue – sort of here – if you are familiar with the locale of Highland Park:

our friends at the Los Angeles Times have some very interesting Facts about Highland Park – here – such as:

  • a population of 60,000
  • the median age of residents is 28
  • the percentage of never married males is among the county’s highest
  • 45.1 percent are foreign born (predominately Mexico, El Salvador – and 1.9 percent from Germany)

the people at Time Out, Los Angeles, call Highland Park “An Eastside Microhood” (we’re not Entirely sure that’s a nice thing to say but we’ll let it go, for now).

and on Wednesday, who-we-are-in-RL is writing a column for Los Angeles, I’m Yours and you can hear what she loved about a morning in Highland Park, darlings.

stay tuned (or you don’t have to stay tuned because we’ll let you know – naturally – when it Goes Live).

so here’s the recommended soundtrack for these cool shots from dawn to twelve noon when we stopped for sustenance at Ba:
