darlings
do you remember this?
(if you can’t see this Transmission in your Territory – please enjoy the lyrics as carefully copiedoutwithquillpen typed therein)
These are days you’ll remember.
Never before and never since, I promise, will the
whole world be warm as this.
And as you feel it, you’ll know it’s true that you are
blessed and lucky.
It’s true that you are touched by something that will
grow and bloom in you. These are days you’ll remember.
When May is rushing over you with desire to be part
of the miracles you see in every hour.
You’ll know it’s true that you are blessed and lucky.
It’s true that you are touched by something that will
grow and bloom in you. These are days.
These are the days you might fill with laughter until
you break.
These days you might feel a shaft of light make its
way across your face.
And when you do you’ll know how it was meant to be.See the signs and know their meaning.
It’s true, you’ll know how it was meant to be.
Hear the signs and know they’re speaking to you, to
you.
because – well – they Are – worth remembering, that is.
especially when one got to see the Avedon Women exhibition at the Gagosian in the middle of This particular day.
*s w o o n s*
we took our own sneaky-peek from the outside (can you see the very subtle yet present presence?) – who-we-are-in-RL is a big fan of Mr. Avedon.
and yes, we wrote about it in the fresh moleskine (#159 if you’re at all curious)
because, well, if one doesn’t take Time to record such glorious events as visiting the Avedon exhibition – it’s entirely possible the universe (or whatever magic you think is out there – we happen to enjoy this one) *might* stop presenting everything in such a truly delicious way.
because it makes Days like this just so Possible.
*lookstocamera*
how many places-on-the-interweb do You know that go from Mr. Avedon to Mr. Higgs (Nobel Prize Winner)?
*small_smile*
everything is connected, of course.
just not in the ways that we imagine most people have thought of.
*looksintomiddledistance*
Oh I do love a sneaky selfie – the photographer subtly reflected in the glass. And I do love Avedon.
And I really really needed 10,000 Maniacs just now. So thanks for that too. XXX
Oh to be an Avedon woman…Must practice my three quarter profile pose.
It all adds up to a lot more than physics and photography, doesn’t it? No idea what I really mean by that….so….. I will stop talking and simply admire the gloriousness. :)
I adore Avedon….and the film that was inspired by him. “Funny Face”. His photos in the late 60’s inspired my dreams of what glamour was and I don’t mean just his photos of stars and models. But the real glamour of being human and having an eye for beauty in every shape and emotion. He helped inform my young eyes. Thank you for this.
