darlings
the last few hours in London are passing Most Pleasurably.
of the Very Intelligent narrowed eye expression.
and a great *lookofftocameraTwo* gaze.
a splendid slump and a purr when finished writing in his moleskine.
we made tea (simon demurred in favo(u)r of a small sip of water for himself)
and gazed out into the very nice garden.
Thrilled to see some good friends.
simon enjoyed bits of cold comfort farm being read out while he snoozed. seriously – if one HAD to travel all the way to South Africa (although it is a glamorous proposition, we’re Aware), there is Not a nicer way to spend the last few hours with a simon, tea, nancy mitford, stella gibbons and a ticking clock.
we’ve known a few simons in our time but this one has to be the absolute Best.
just saying.
ok.
so we’re about to leave.
don’t expect to hear from us until we LAND in Cape Town sometime around teatime on Friday.
mainly because we managed to break *sighs* the US-to-UK electrical adaptor which means we are r u n n i n g out of j u i c e as the Americans say and won’t be able to re-charge until we can plug in the (hopefully more sturdy) US-to-SouthAfrican electrical adaptor device.
travel does broaden the mind but sometimes threaten the intellect.
see you below the Equator*
*right, non?
Most Excited.
Is there a Barbara Pym in said library?
we believe there WAS!
atchoooo!
forgive me. cats. get me. even through a monitor.
not a cat person. *sniffs*dries eyes*
I looooved your london intermezzo and am curious to see what images and encounters you’ll reveal to us soon. and good luck with the adaptor!
we’re HERE! just posted.
hope we didn’t make your eyes too sore with simon-shots.
no, no *caugh*
*makes a maggie smith is not amused face*
:D
very good face.
we adore Dame Maggie Smith.
most certainly we do.
Sweet Simon; he’s lovely….wise and serene. How could he be anything else, being protector of such a wonderful library as he is.
e x a c t l y.
;-)
*wavingfromcapetown*!
Oh my goodness, I love your Simon…beautiful pics too
not our Simon but someone else’s but yes – he was a true companion.
thank you for visiting!
Way below the Equator ma belle, you’ll see, water swirls in the opposite direction. It does! Travel safe and know that I am sending good thoughts as you fly overhead.
And I must say…now THAT is a CAT. What a fine furry companion. He and I would get along just fine.
he was a curious cat indeed.
safe travels – again!
#phew
just arrived.
that WAS a long way.
