darlings
we took off from JFK – lightly packed and ably fit with reading materials…..

and six hours later – whoosh!

11:40PM LAX and a smooth ride home.
Not sure where our spirit is – it takes longer than the corporeal self to touchdown. Perhaps it stopped off in Chicago to admire the windy city and the soaring skyscrapers of Ad-Land.
It may even have decided to re-visit Kansas.
There’s no knowing until we realize it is back.
Of course with the amount of Travel we did for the Day Job, we often wonder if Bits of our psyche are scattered with the four winds throughout CHINA, Paris, Milan, INDIA and near that lovely temple we visited after work meetings in Taipei.
We will just have to go around the world again (more slowly and quietly and reflectively) on our Book Tour and re-configure our fractal-shaken-soul into a new cohesive CPU (central processing unit for the less geeky of our Friends).
Delicious.
But first we s l e e p.

About teamgloria
I used to make my living from writing. And then it all stopped and so I went and did something else, part of which entailed a whole new look from Brooks Brothers (it wasn’t really me, but it was necessary). But a decade later I started to write again (during nights and weekends and frustrated lunch-times and long haul business travel) and one of the things I wrote (or came to me – as I do believe in the whole Muse concept) was a character called Gloria.
Gloria was a trainee angel and sat “up there” waiting for her first assignment. To occupy the hours she should have been studying humans and their foibles, she spent her time enjoying the new celestial movies-on-demand channel and became obsessed by Doris Day. So you can imagine the drama that unfolded when she came to Earth. Quite a shock to the system. But Gloria was determined to see Manhattan through the eyes of a vintage Doris Day movie and something magical started to happen – to me too.
Because I started to do the same thing and life became easier (and then I got Tobias the tumor which changed the trajectory, for now).
There are a lot of glorious people, places & things that help me get through my day – they make my life great – and so I call them “team gloria” (although they don’t usually know that). So I thought I’d start documenting them, and looking out for new people, places & things on a daily basis, and sharing them with you (whomever you are – do say hello. Oh, and tell me who your team gloria is :-)
Wonderful. And yes, I bet if feels good to be snuggled in your own bed and not buried under quite so many layers of blankets and things, I would imagine.
I have written about that same feeling after travelling so you are not alone in that. Best perhaps to leave those pieces of you where they are…non? Maybe they are happy there…?

Tis quite Delicious to think that bits of us might now be carefully copying out Traditional Chinese characters or sipping expresso with a view of the Duomo each morning ;)
Or planting Tibetan prayer flags on a hill in the Lower Himalayas or hiding from a rain storm in the Bayon Temple…
or walking through the cold berlin snow and having a hot chocolate afterwards…
*sighs*
that’s a Future bit of us.
and it Can’t WAIT.
of course……you have lots of bits of Heather-ness scattered to the 4 winds. *shivers*
