darlings
few words – this is a Picture Post.
we could not go back to sleep so got into the car (quietly exiting the building) and remembered that Canters is 24/7.
a few moments later we sunk gratefully into a booth with a 5AM bagel (whole wheat and marmalade) and a mug of coffee while admiring the faded rock stars who haunt the joint at that hour.
then we remembered we have friends in malibu who are early risers and like to greet the dawn with their vintage (4 years old – an age here) Juicy Couture baby pink sweats (ladies), oversized sunglasses and tousled blond(e) hair (both genders) and then there was us – yes – in black.

yes – we thought of City of Angels too – do you remember the moment where the angels gather on the beach (probably malibu – maybe further down, at point dume, near where Cher lives)?
and then after all that Uplifting, coffee-cup-on-the-car-roof, camera in-hand, leaning over the railings, admiring the sunrise, talking with friends and being all Lovely and spirit-filled we Blew It Entirely at the Bank.
according to the interweb, our bank had a saturday-opening-branch-in-chinatown (see map for sheer insanity of drive).
and so we now don’t know what to do about the cashier’s check (bankers draft for our english friends) which is due Monday to get the New Car (well, new to Us) considering NO banks are open on Monday because we are all celebrating a great man (and rightly so) and we need to return the rental car (is That going to be open?) on Monday and then how do we get to the bank Tuesday and pick up the New Car (to us) on Tuesday instead.
you’d never know we lived in NYC for (almost) 7 years.
like we don’t know how to Take A Cab.
#sigh
yes.
it all got to us ever so slightly so we came back home and took a Nap.
but wasn’t that sunrise gorgeous?
That was a beautiful moment.

Gym! We love You.
Yes, that WAS a lovely sunrise.
Those new wheels look suspiciously convertible. :)
All so exciting!
And I have 2 words for you: Canter’s Rugelach.
Ah.
That’s the Rental.
It drinks gas/petrol.
Heading for Plum (wodehouse) Prius on Mon or Tuesday.
